The Town of Comox has approved a new, four-year strategic plan.
The plan was approved last week, with the Town saying that the plan will focus on maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Five themes were identified for the plan, including organizational excellence, community connection and wellness, economic health, good governance, and balanced community planning.
Town mayor Nicole Minions says the work highlighted in this plan is both ambitious yet balanced.
“The work highlighted in our new plan is ambitious yet balanced to recognize the challenges with a growing community,” said Minions. “We are excited to work through the plan, evaluate the progress, and enhance the livability of our Town.”
The Town adds the plan has some highlighted projects, including the making of a pump track for younger people, a focus on parks and urban planning, and finishing a downtown action plan.
Council will now review the plan during their Strategic Planning Committee meetings, with the plan to also be used for decision-making while they work on the 2024 financial plan.
