Two people have been arrested in Nanaimo following a truck theft.
According to Reserve Constable Gary O-Brien, police received a report from a homeowner in Comox on March 22 at 2:30 a.m. that his Ford F-150 truck had been stolen.
The owner says he saw the thieves driving away with the truck on his home security camera.
“About 7 o’clock that morning he alerted us to the fact that it was tracking to a residence in Nanaimo, we were quickly on the scene, we surrounded the truck and located the two individuals,” said O’Brien.
O’Brien says the individuals were a 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man. Both were arrested without incident and taken into custody.
The 23-year-old was arrested for theft and possession of the truck, and also for possession of brass knuckles. The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with the theft of the truck.
O’Brien adds they have been released on conditions and have a court date pending in Nanaimo on April 9.
