Two new administrators appointed for Comox Valley Schools

Comox Valley schools have two new top administrators to help the district focus on inclusivity and excellence.

Lelaina Jules is the new District Vice-Principal of Indigenous Education. She completed her Masters at VIU, where her work was largely focused on equity. In her new role she will help staff integrate Indigenous perspectives into their educational practices.

The district has also appointed Joe Heslip as the new Associate Superintendent of Schools. He previously worked in several schools in the Fraser Valley, after a career with the BC Ministry of Education. Notably, he led the Equity in Action Project across 60 school districts.

The school district says it’s thrilled to welcome them both to their new roles, and wishes them all the best.
