8 Local Artists Connect with CommunityOn Saturday, August 7th and Sunday, August 8th from 10-4, 8 local artists connect with the community. They will meet and greet everyone and share their artwork at the outdoor Fine Art on Fitzgerald Art Show & Market at 2197 Fitzgerald Ave, in Courtenay.
After a call out to other local artists, TaraLee Houston received an overwhelming response to host an Art Show & Market. Getting together and reconnecting is exactly what is needed after a very long closure for artists who sell their work independently. Supporting local Arts and Culture is so important especially now to keep the vibrancy and energy of arts and culture that we all benefit from in our communities and these 8 artists are excited to reconnect with the community.
Local Artist, NIC Fine Art & Design and Emily Carr University Alumni, TaraLee Houston says; “ collaborating and supporting other artists is part of her life as an artist and a member of the Comox Valley community. After the pause in work and social activities the past 18 months, She has put back on her rose coloured glasses dusted off her hopeful optimism and geared up her unwavering entrepreneurial spirit!” Artists come in many forms and for independent artists it’s their business to be creative in all aspects of connecting their work and making connections with others. So, in some way shape or form you wear many hats having an art business. Thanks to the support of local Artist Larissa McLean and Maggie Ziegler, TaraLee was invited to join a market this past June after a long and isolating period it was such a success and very well received. So, her entrepreneurial spirit awakened and she decided to host a group Art Show & Market to reconnect with other artists and our work, by sharing it with the community safely outdoors. The artists are ready and excited to meet new people, see old friends and colleagues and reconnect with other local creatives this weekend.

Come connect with us! There will be original paintings, prints, cards, ceramics, textiles, hand knit and crocheted items, weavings and weaving kits, plus a gallery to showcase original artwork.
